What to Expect: Queen of the Park 2024 Skateboarding Contest at FDR Skatepark

Comments Off on What to Expect: Queen of the Park 2024 Skateboarding Contest at FDR Skatepark

The 4th annual Queen of the Park women’s skateboarding contest is happening on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at FDR Skatepark in Philadelphia. The event runs from 12PM until dark. The kids’ contest (Princess of The Park) usually starts around 1:30PM, and the adults’ contest begins around 2-2:30PM (times may be slightly different), with live music and events continuing until dark. This highly anticipated event celebrates and showcases the incredible talent of female skaters from around the region and beyond. If there’s one contest of the year to go to, we suggest attending this one.

In addition to the main Queen of the Park competition, there will also be a Princess of the Park contest for young female skaters. This provides an opportunity for the next generation of skaters to showcase their skills and passion for the sport. Keep an eye out for some of our Skate The Foundry students entering this contest.

In addition to the fierce competition, attendees can expect an array of vendors from food to clothing, art, and skateboards, live music performances, and a lively atmosphere fueled by the Gnar Bar. If you don’t know, the Gnar Bar is the place for adult spectators to get their drinks. This event not only celebrates the empowerment of women in skateboarding but also fosters a vibrant community of artists, musicians, and skaters united by their shared passion.

Mark your calendars and get ready to witness the incredible talent and camaraderie at the Queen of the Park and Princess of the Park 2024 contest on June 1st at FDR Skatepark. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!

About FDR Skatepark:

One thing to know is that FDR Skatepark is one of the most (if not the most) famous skateparks in the world, completely built by thousands of skaters, mostly local to Philadelphia. People travel all over the world to visit, and we are lucky enough to have it in our own backyard! The skatepark is located beneath the I-95 overpass and has diverse terrain, including the core park, pool sections, mini ramp with a spine, and a small street park with flat rails and launch ramps that grow bigger every year! The park promises an exhilarating and visually stunning experience for both participants and spectators alike.
